Dr. Mark Hosak · Eileen Wiesmann · Living Shingon Lineage

Shingon Reiki —
Reiki at its actual source.

臨 兵 闘 者 皆 陣 列 在 前

Reiki is more than what the West kept of it. Meditation. Mantra. Mudra. Initiation into the Buddhist spirits. This is the practice as it actually came from the temples of Japan — and it is still being lived.

Why Shingon Reiki

The Reiki Mikao Usui
actually meant.

Shingon Reiki carries the deepest currents of ancient Japanese spirituality into a practice you can live today.

🧘
Meditation belongs to it

When you give Reiki, you are fully present. You breathe. You feel. You are here. That is meditation. In Shingon Reiki, that stillness becomes a path you walk consciously — for your own growth, not only for others.

What it gives you: Stillness. Clarity. A different rhythm in your day.
Awaken your perception

Mikao Usui — the founder of Reiki — said it himself: this is not first about treating symptoms or illnesses. It is about developing the senses that read the unseen. In Shingon Reiki, you uncover the perception for energy work that was always yours.

What it gives you: A clearer sense of what you actually feel.

Straight from the source

Three years inside the temples of Kyoto. A researcher and practitioner of the Shingon tradition. The Shikoku pilgrimage walked on foot. This is not lineage learned from a book — it is lineage received from master to practitioner. You feel the difference.

What it gives you: Authenticity that you actually feel.
Body and energy

Reiki moves through body, mind, and spirit at once. Tension, imbalance, deep exhaustion — what shows in the body always has a deeper root. Shingon Reiki opens space for the system to find its own balance again.

What it gives you: A way to meet yourself, all the way down.

Where you begin

Where are you now?

One path. Two starting points. Everyone begins with Shingon Reiki Level 1. What differs is how deep the first initiation already takes you.

New to Reiki?

No previous experience needed. Shingon Reiki Level 1 is your entry. You receive your initiation. You learn the practice for yourself first — stillness, clarity, inner order — and how to pass Reiki on to the people, animals, partners, and parents in your life. A practice that lives in your everyday.

Step into Shingon Reiki Level 1
Already practicing Reiki?

Shingon Reiki is not a repetition of what you already have. It is a separate lineage with its own transmission. What is new here: the refinement of subtle perception. The initiation into the Medicine Buddha. And the conscious transmission of energy through your hands. Three dimensions Western Reiki simply does not carry.

"Five stars without question — if I could give more, I would. This event with Mark made my life richer and more beautiful. Working with the crystal wand opened new, endless possibilities for spiritual practice — and let me actually experience them. I thank Mark once again for the practice he opens, the growth he makes possible, and the love he brings."

"I practice several energy systems and I've tested which works best for my clients. Every time a system didn't work, I tried Shingon Reiki. Ten times out of ten, it was more effective than the other systems I practice. That's because this is not a typical Reiki weekend. Mark is a great initiator."

Common questions

FAQ

What is Shingon Reiki?
Shingon Reiki is Reiki in its original Japanese form. Its roots reach into esoteric Buddhism (Shingon), Shugendo, Shinto, and shamanic Daoism. The characters 靈氣 (Rei-Ki) do not describe a generic "universal life energy" in the Western sense — they describe spiritual energy. The force that becomes present in ritual, calligraphy, and subtle perception. Shingon Reiki carries what the West often left behind: meditation, mudra, mantra, the refinement of perception, and initiation into the Buddhist spirits.
Who is Shingon Reiki for?
For people who sense there is something real behind what they have felt — and want to find the actual tradition. For complete beginners as well as for experienced Reiki practitioners ready to go deeper. Not for wellness tourism. Not for those looking for power over others.
Do I need prior experience?
No. If you are meeting Shingon Reiki for the first time, you begin with Level 1. You receive your initiation and are introduced into the practice — how to use Reiki for yourself, and how to pass it on to others.
What makes Shingon Reiki different from Western Reiki?
What is unique to Shingon Reiki: through the initiations, you receive not only the Reiki force itself, but also the energies of further Buddhist spirits — among them the Medicine Buddha — and you can transmit them consciously through your hands. Western Reiki simply does not carry this dimension. Add to this meditation, mudra, mantra, the refinement of subtle perception, and the ritual structure that the West lost along the way.
How do I begin?
